INDOT to hear concerns over Spencer County intersection

The Indiana Department of Transportation is planning a public hearing, less than one month after a crash at a Spencer County intersection that killed a retired school principal.

INDOT says in a news release that officials will gather public input about the south junction of U.S. Highway 231 and State Road 62, near Dale, where 60-year-old Susan Grundhoefer died December 28th.

Officials say there have been seven fatal crashes in a four-year period at that intersection.

The hearing is set for Thursday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m. in the Heritage Hills High School auditorium. That’s the same venue where a memorial service was held for Grundhoefer on New Year’s Eve.

Grundhoefer retired as principal of Heritage Hills Middle School in 2012, after a long career in education.
