Henderson Schools Taking Hybrid Approach to COVID

File

Henderson County schools are moving to a hybrid system to battle COVID-19.

On the school district’s Facebook page, Transitional District Director Bob Lawson said starting Monday, students will be divided into two groups.

Group 1 will attend school in person on Monday and Tuesday and Group 2 will attend school in person on Thursday and Friday.

Both Group 1 and Group 2 will receive online instruction at home on Wednesday.

Lawson said the district’s goal is to use the hybrid model for two weeks.

Also starting Monday, all students will be required to wear a mask on school buses and while at school.

Lawson calls it an important change for “the health and safety of all of our students and staff.”

He said families who need assistance purchasing masks should contact the Family Resource Coordinator at their school.
