Drive-through testing for the coronavirus is available in Evansville for “essential” workers who have COVID-19 symptoms.
The Indiana State Department of Health partnered with local health officials for the free testing.
It’s open to healthcare workers, first responders, and other essential personnel who are experiencing symptoms like fever, a dry cough, or trouble breathing.
The local testing clinic is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday at the CK Newsome Community Center at 100 E. Walnut St.
The state is conducting similar tests in Fort Wayne, Gary, and Sellersburg.
Participants should bring a driver’s license or other Indiana-issued identification card and documentation of place of employment.
In a release, the health department stressed that only essential personnel with symptoms will be tested.
The testing will be conducted as long as supplies last and will be limited to one individual per vehicle.
