Evansville Water and Sewer Utility is changing the way it handles heavy trash pick-ups throughout the year.
Until now, there have been just two days a year when Evansville Water and Sewer Utility customers could throw out large items like mattresses, appliances and furniture.
But EWSU officials say all that is changing and heavy trash pickup will now operate on a customer scheduled pick up system - meaning those with large, approved items can call a number to schedule a pick up any time.
There are a few times of year when the service will not be available such as during fall leaf clean-up which runs November through mid-December.
Along with the change to the pick-up process, there are a few additions to the list of acceptable heavy trash items. For a full list and other requirements visit evansvillegov.org.
