Erecting signs to stop traffic

Traffic will be stopped for up to 20 minutes at a time at a couple of major intersections in the Evansville area.

INDOT says traffic will be stopped as crews install new sign structures for I-69.

A news release from the agency says southbound Highway 41 at I-69 will be shut down at times starting Thursday through next Wednesday.

The work will then shift to Highway 66 at I-69, where eastbound 66 will be closed occasionally starting next Monday through Friday.

The work will shift to westbound 66 at I-69 the week after Memorial Day.

INDOT says traffic won’t be allowed to pass under crews and equipment working on the overhead signs.

The work is dependent on the weather, so the stoppage dates could change.
