The Evansville Philharmonic has announced a new conductor for its Youth Orchestra.
The Philharmonic appointed Dr. Chun-Ming Chen as its new youth conductor.
In a release, the EPO said Dr. Chen – known as Jimmy – was born in Taiwan.
He’s currently the Director of Orchestral Activities at the University of Evansville and the Music Director of the Artists Chamber Orchestra in Taiwan.
Chen has worked for numerous orchestras in the U.S.
His education includes degrees from Tunghai University in Taiwan, the Boston Conservatory, Ithaca College, and the University of Iowa.
Chen replaces Brian Onderdonk, who has left the Philharmonic.
