EPD Looking for More Victims of Violence at Howell Home

File

Evansville police are asking more victims to come forward following last month’s violence at a West Side home.

Police responded to a possible kidnapping at the home in the 1800 block of Stinson Avenue on October 18th.

One of the suspects, Carey Hammond, exited the home pointing what appeared to be a firearm and officers fatally shot him.

Another man, 50-year-old Timothy Ivy, was found dead inside the home.

Evansville police said 36-year-old Heidi Carter and Hammond duct-taped Ivy and a female victim to chairs and abused them for hours.

Hammond reportedly choked Ivy to death with a belt. The female victim survived.

In a release issued Monday evening, EPD Sgt. Anna Gray said there may be other victims of crimes committed by Carter and Hammond.

Victims or those with information leading to other victims are asked to call EPD detectives at 812-436- 4017 or the WeTip line at 800-78-CRIME.
