A Deadly Day: 10 New COVID Deaths Reported in Tri-State

The COVID death toll continues to rise in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky. 

The Indiana State Department of Health reported three new fatalities in Vanderburgh County and two more in Gibson County.

The deaths raised Vanderburgh County’s toll since mid-March to 35. Gibson County’s toll rose to seven.

The state agency also recorded 65 new infections in Vanderburgh, as a surge in cases continued.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana rose to 148.

No new COVID deaths were reported in Warrick or Posey counties.

Across Indiana, the agency recorded 30 new deaths and nearly 1,000 new infections in its Tuesday report.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported five new fatalities – all in Henderson County.

The department tallied 81 new infections in the seven-county district – 37 of them in Daviess County and 24 in Henderson County.
