Deaconess Health System is adding to its reach in the Tri-State.
Baptist Health System in Madisonville is the latest hospital and medical group to sign on to a joint operating agreement with Deaconess Health System.
In a release, Deaconess said that through the joint venture, both organizations will operate the hospital, medical group and outpatient facilities. They expect to make initial capital investments of $50 million in improvements and renovations in the Madisonville operation.
All current Madisonville employees will continue with the new organization. Physician recruitment will also be a focus of the new medical group.
Baptist Health, Madisonville, formerly known as Trover Health System, joined Baptist Health in 2012.
Deaconess Health System consists of nine hospitals, and is a major health care provider in twenty six counties in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois.
