COVID Infections Continue to Rise

No new COVID-19 related deaths were reported in southwest Indiana on Thursday, but new infections continued to rise. 

The Indiana Department of Health recorded 96 new cases in Vanderburgh County, 39 in Warrick County, 29 in Gibson County, and 21 in Posey County.

More people continue to roll up their sleeves for vaccinations and boosters.

The agency added 171 Vanderburgh County residents to the ranks of fully vaccinated, while nearly 600 more local residents received booster shots.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana fell a bit to 133.

Across Indiana, 27 new fatalities were recorded along with more than 5,600 new infections.
