COVID Deaths, Infections Rising at Slower Rate

COVID-19 deaths and infections continue to rise at a slower pace in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky. 

The Indiana Department of Health recorded one new COVID-related death in Vanderburgh County and one in Dubois County on the Tuesday dashboard.

Just 32 new infections were added in Vanderburgh, 13 in Dubois, and ten in Warrick County.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals fell to 19.5 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana dropped by 31 to 108.

Statewide, the agency added 61 COVID-related fatalities and nearly 1600 new infections.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department announced four more COVID-related deaths: two in Daviess County, one in Union County, and one in McLean County between Friday and Monday.

The department recorded 241 more infections in the seven-county district, dropping its seven-day average for new cases to less than 75 a day.
