COVID Death Toll Rises in Vanderburgh, Daviess; New Infections Remain Low

Another COVID 19-related death is reported in Vanderburgh County, and two more in Daviess County, Kentucky.

The Indiana Department of Health tallied Vanderburgh’s 379th fatality of the pandemic.

The number of new cases remained low with an increase of 15 in Vanderburgh and single-digit increases in Warrick, Posey, and Gibson counties.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate dipped to 4.4 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana dropped to 35 – the lowest number since July.

Across Indiana, 31 new fatalities were added with less than 600 new infections on the Tuesday dashboard.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department raised Daviess County’s death toll by two to 158.

26 new COVID infections were tallied in the seven-county district, with eleven patients hospitalized.
