COVID Death Toll Rises in Vanderburgh, Daviess Counties

New coronavirus-related deaths are reported in Vanderburgh and Daviess counties. 

The Indiana State Department of Health announced Vanderburgh County’s 16th fatality in its Tuesday report.

The agency also reported 22 new cases in the county while the seven-day positivity rate fell to 9.2 percent.

No new coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.

The statewide death toll rose by 28 to 2,954. Another 211 fatalities are considered “probable” COVID-related deaths.

Indiana reported 850 new cases and a seven-day positivity rate of 7.8 percent.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported a 9th coronavirus-related death in Daviess County.

The department also reported 28 new cases in its seven-county region – 16 of them in Daviess.
