City Council to Address E-Scooters

ridegoat.com

The Evansville City Council is scheduled to consider rules and regulations for electric scooters.

A smart phone app called GOAT – G-O-A-T – began renting the small, upright scooters in Evansville two months ago.

The company moved in after the State of Indiana passed legislation stopping cities from prohibiting them.

But the measure does allow cities to regulate scooters.

In a press release, City Council member Michelle Mercer said the council will take up the issue at its December 16th meeting.

Mercer said the discussion will include where E-scooters are not allowed, licensing, rider restrictions, parking, data sharing, equity, and enforcement.
