Update 1:30 pm: On scene, Samantha Horton reports Vectren's preliminary statement says the cause of the explosion was not due to a gas leak. Director of Corporate Communications Natalie Hedde was the spokesperson. Names are yet to be confirmed by the authorities.
Update 11:20 am: John Gibson reports two adults and a child were hurt and taken to the hospital while EPD and local Firefighters continue to investigate the cause of the explosion. The natural gas was shut off for safety but two people are still unaccounted for. The coroner is also on scene.
Update: John Gibson reports from the scene that Evansville Police confirm an explosion at the home. They confirm three victims were transported to Evansville hospitals, but there is no word on the extent of their injuries.

It is a chaotic scene 0n Evansville's northeast side Tuesday morning, as emergency crews work to put out a house fire and transport victims to area hospitals.
There were reports of an explosion at the house in the 1700 block of Hercules Avenue about 8:45 CDT Tuesday. There are unconfirmed reports of multiple injuries and possibly fatalities.
Evansville police are expected to brief the media in a few minutes. John Gibson and Samantha Horton are at the scene and will provide information as soon as it is confirmed.
