Apartment Fire Displaces Resident

File

There’s no word on the cause of an apartment fire on Evansville’s southeast side.

Evansville firefighters were dispatched to 3501 Jackson Avenue just after noon Tuesday.

When they arrived minutes later, they saw smoke coming from the front door and second floor window of the apartment.

In a release, EFD Division Chief Mike Larson said crews quickly found the fire and extinguished it by 12:20.

Larson said the resident wasn’t home at the time and has been displaced.

He said crews contained the flames to the first floor living area with smoke and heat damage throughout the apartment.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire cause is under investigation.
