American to upgrade Dallas flights at EVV

You may notice larger aircraft flying in and out of Evansville Regional Airport, starting this spring.

Airport officials say American Airlines is upgrading its weekday flights and one of its weekend flights to and from Dallas.

A news release from Evansville Regional says the flights will be on CRJ-900 planes, which seat 76 passengers, including 9 in first class.

The flights are currently run on smaller, 50-seat jets.

Airport Director of Marketing Leslie Fella says the upgrade is the result of increased demand in Evansville-to-Dallas flights -- the same demand that prompted American to add a second Dallas flight in November.

The larger planes will begin serving Evansville Regional on April 4th.
