3 New COVID Deaths in Daviess County, 279 More Infections in W. Kentucky

File

Three more COVID-19 related deaths and nearly 300 new infections are reported in western Kentucky.

The Green River District Health Department announced the three fatalities from Daviess County, where the pandemic death toll reached 278.

279 more COVID infections were tallied in the seven-county district between Friday and Monday.

The Indiana Department of Health recorded no new virus-related deaths in the Evansville area.

New infections were down on the Tuesday dashboard, while full vaccinations rose in Vanderburgh County by nearly 150 and booster shots soared by more than 1,300.

In less encouraging news, the county’s positivity rate held at about 17.5 percent and the number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana rose by 15 to 96.

That number was down to 55 earlier this month.

Officials continue to urge residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19, especially as the holidays approach.
