As live music returns to the Henderson riverfront this summer, W.C. Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival organizers announced their performance lineup Monday.
They had to postpone their 30th anniversary festival last year, so organizers worked hard to get the same lineup of performers back for 2021.
And they have, with one big addition that will make Saturday evening at the Handy festival a blockbuster blues experience. In addition to Tommy Castro and the Painkillers and headliner Walter Trout, crowd favorite Samantha Fish will be back on the Handy stage for Saturday evening this year.
Other acts include Mississippi Heat, Joe Louis Walker and Eric Gales. Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp band will be back on Thursday for Zydeco night at the festival.
The 2021 W.C. Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival will kick off Wednesday June 16th and run through Saturday on the Henderson riverfront. The festival continues to be free and open to the public. WNIN is once again the festival’s radio partner. We will be broadcasting live and recording performances with Song Show host Brick Briscoe.
