1 New COVID Death in Vanderburgh; Local Vaccinations Up Almost 600

A new COVID-19 death has been recorded in Vanderburgh County. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced the county’s 395th death of the pandemic.

The local death rate has slowed significantly in recent weeks as more people get vaccinated.

The state agency recorded another 579 fully vaccinated residents in Vanderburgh County on the Wednesday dashboard, pushing the total beyond 55,500.

No new COVID-related deaths were reported in Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana rose slightly to 36.

Across the state, 19 new COVID-related deaths were added with nearly 1,300 new infections.

The Green River District Health Department reported 30 new infections but no new COVID-related deaths.

Ten COVID patients were hospitalized in the seven-county district.
