One of the first actions taken by the new director of Evansville’s public libraries was to close the library system because of the coronavirus.
EVPL Director Scott Kinney announced in an email that all library programs, outreach services, and meeting room reservations have been suspended until further notice.
Kinney reminded patrons that the EVPL is fines-free, so no one faces fines for overdue materials.
He said the EVPL will “push out” due dates during the closure.
EVPL services can still be accessed through digital materials.
Kinney said there are thousands of eBooks, eAudiobooks, movies, TV shows, music, and more available 24/7.
