Evansville Police Department
Police determined the car involved was a Chevrolet Equinox but are not sure of the year or color.

Police say someone driving a Chevrolet Equinox hit and seriously injured a man walking home from the CVS on East Morgan Avenue. It happened on Sunday June 12th. The driver did not stop after he struck the 80 year old man.

The victim, whose name has not been released, is still in critical condition with skull and pelvic fractures, a spine injury and bleeding on his brain and kidneys.

Police were able to determine the type of car that hit the victim based on the side view mirror and other parts left behind at the scene.

Police say if anyone saw the hit and run or sees an SUV-type car missing a driver’s side mirror and with front end damage, please report it to the detective’s office at (812) 436-4017.
