Dubois County Health Department Closing Covid-19 Testing Site

Dubois Co HealthD

After June 30th, the Dubois County Health Department will no longer be testing people for Covid-19. Officials say they have a limited supply of take-home tests to distribute starting May 17th.

The at-home tests are free but the department is asking that people only take them if they are particularly vulnerable to the illness or if they are experiencing symptoms. The tests can be picked up from the health department’s drive-through on South St. Charles Street.

According to the Indiana Covid-19 dashboard, Dubois County’s first case was in late March of 2020. Case counts peaked on January 24th of this year with 278 cases reported. Lately the county has seen fewer than ten cases per week. Up to this point, one hundred and sixty-one Dubois County residents have died from Covid-19.
