KYTC Encourages Real ID Update at New DMV Location
If you look at your driver’s license and you don’t see a gold or black star on the upper right hand side, you may need to collect some paperwork and head to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
By this time next year, anyone wanting to travel on a domestic flight must have a Real ID – that’s an updated license with clearance for flying anywhere in the US or US territories.
In anticipation of the May 2023 deadline, transportation departments include the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet are urging the public to go ahead and get the updated license.
The KYTC has announced a new location in Henderson that will help people update. The facility at 395 Borax Drive can process ReadID licenses, renewals, commercial driver’s licenses and ID cards.
Officials ask that people come prepared with necessary documents. A list can be found at drive.ky.gov. Many locations including the new Henderson office, offer appointments to get the new Real ID.
