The purpose of the drive is to securely destroy medications that can be harmful and addictive when taken outside of a doctor’s direction.

Unused or expired medications can be dropped off at the Indiana State Police post on highway 41 on April 30th from 10am to 2pm. Syringes will not be accepted. It is part of a national program by the Drug Enforcement Division.

In October of 2021, DEA data shows that Indiana drug take-back locations collected more than 24,000 pounds of medications and supplies. That’s in addition to the 22,000 pounds that ISP collected during last spring’s Drug Take Back day.
