Mayor Lloyd Winnecke presents Wayne Kinney with the McGary Jones Visionary and Humanitarian Award

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke presented the 2022 McGary Jones Visionary and Humanitarian Award to Wayne Kinney.

Kinney is a long-time supporter of many of Evansville’s institutions and local non-profits. A gift from the Kinney family helped bring the Penguins of Patagonia to Mesker Park Zoo and the honoree has encouraged the development of affordable housing in the city.

According to a release from the Mayor’s office, Kinney is an example of someone who is always asking how they can help and following through. At the ceremony, Kinney said those who showed up to participate in United Way’s Day of Caring also epitomize the award.

The McGary Jones award is named for the City’s founder Hugh McGary Jr and retired bank executive Bob Jones.
