Indiana Law Enforcement on High Alert in Preparation for Pot "Holiday"

April 20th used to be just another day of spring but increasingly the date 4/20 has become a holiday (for some) to celebrate marijuana.

While it has become legal to smoke or ingest pot in some states, Indiana State Police are reminding people, the Hoosier state is not one of them.

According to a release, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute emphasizes that marijuana is still illegal and can be dangerous to use especially while operating a car. They say it can slow reaction time and impair cognitive function.

That’s why law enforcement will be on high alert Wednesday for impaired drivers. Officers are equipped with the SoToxa Mobile Test System which is like a breathalyzer except it detects drugs including marijuana.
