Deaths, Infections Climb in Western KY; 21 Earlier Deaths Added

COVID-19 related deaths and infections have risen in western Kentucky. 

The Green River District Health Department announced four new fatalities and 585 more COVID infections on its Tuesday report.

The deaths and infections were recorded between last Tuesday and Monday.

The fatalities were logged in Henderson, Daviess, Union, and Ohio counties.

The agency also said the state’s mortality review team has determined that an additional 21 deaths were caused by COVID-19 in the seven-county district.

All were from January 2021 or earlier.

The COVID death toll rose to 281 in Daviess County and 126 in Henderson County.

The data showed 55 percent of Daviess County residents are vaccinated while 52 percent in Henderson County residents are.

Hancock has the district’s biggest percentage of vaccinated residents at nearly 61 percent.
