Evansville's skyline will look much different to start the week for many downtown workers Monday.

Contractor representatives and Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke talk about the science behind the implosion, the recycling of the material and what happens next on that block of downtown Evansville.
It had stood as the tallest building in Evansville for over fifty years.
And in exactly twenty six seconds, it was a heap of rubble.
After weeks of preparation the 420 Main Building, the former headquarters of Old National Bank, came down as Mayor Lloyd Winnecke put it,
“It happened the way they said it would.”
In a surreal setting at Fifth and Vine Streets downtown, the dust cloud from the implosion rolled over the media, some construction employees and their families just as the Old Courthouse clock chimed 7am.
Fifth Street will be open in a week and final cleanup of the site is due for completion by the end of January.
