It’s beginning to look like Christmas in Downtown Evansville.
The city’s official Christmas tree arrived at the Civic Center on Tuesday.
Industrial Contractors-Skanska delivered the tree on the back of a semi.
Evansville Police escorted the 30-foot Norway spruce.
In a release, the city said Industrial Contractors-Skanska and CenterPoint Energy – formerly Vectren – have helped make the display possible for 30 years.
Officials say the new tree will be decorated with about 25,000 lights and an official “E” on top.
The tree lighting ceremony is planned for next Wednesday at 5 p.m. The Evansville Children’s Choir will perform and Mayor Winnecke will turn on the lights.
