The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility says customers who pay their bills by mail should now receive their statements on time.
The utility says an issue with its mail distribution system has been resolved.
The EWSU dropped late fees and disconnections for customers who were inconvenienced by the late billing.
But next month, the utility says it will resume charging late fees and shutting off service on accounts that haven’t been paid.
Local water and sewer customers who need more time to pay past-due amounts are urged to call the utility’s customer service line at 812-436-7846.
Customers may also request payment arrangements online at ewsu.com.
The utility says payment arrangements cannot be made after the shutoff date has passed and the account has been disconnected.
