2 More COVID Deaths in Western KY; 0 in SW Indiana

Fewer COVID 19-related deaths and infections are reported in western Kentucky, with no fatalities added in southwest Indiana. 

The Green River District Health Department tallied two new fatalities and 174 new cases in the district from Friday through Monday.

The two latest COVID-related deaths were from Daviess and Union counties.

In its Tuesday report, the agency said Daviess County was its only one of its seven counties still considered an Area of High Transmission

Meanwhile, the Indiana Department of Health added no new COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

43 more infections were tallied in Vanderburgh County, where the seven-day positivity rate among individuals rose to 16.5 percent.

Across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana, the number of hospitalized COVID patients fell slightly to 66.

Statewide, 59 more COVID-related deaths were announced with nearly 2,000 new infections.
