Residents have an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted electronics on Saturday.
Holiday sales on electronics have already begun, so now may be the time many consumers say “out with the old and in with the new”.
Vanderburgh County Solid Waste Management officials are making responsible disposal of old computers and TVs possible by hosting an electronics recycling day this Saturday.
Starting at 8am, Vanderburgh county residents can bring appropriate items to the downtown civic center parking lot at 9th and Walnut streets.
Printers, cell phones, laptops will be accepted but not large appliances or items from businesses.
Environmentalists say it's important that electronics do not end up in landfills because of harmful materials like batteries and heavy metals.
