Starting Monday, masks will become optional for students and staff in Warrick County schools.
The Warrick County School Corporation sent an email to parents about the change on Wednesday.
It said masks will also be optional at extracurricular activities but still must be worn on school buses.
In the email, Superintendent Todd Lambert still recommended masks as “an additional layer of protection” but said they will not be required.
The school corporation cited decreasing COVID-19 infections.
The North Posey school district dropped its mask requirement this week.
But the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and the Metropolitan School District of Mount Vernon are still requiring masks, for now.
