Encouraging COVID Numbers: No New Deaths, Hospitalizations Still Falling

No new COVID-19 deaths have been added in southwest Indiana and hospitalizations continue to fall. 

The Indiana Department of Health recorded no new fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

Vanderburgh County saw 37 new infections, Warrick County had 17, and the rest of the area counties saw single-digit increases on the Thursday dashboard.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals dropped below 15 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana fell to 59 – the lowest level since July 23rd.

Across Indiana, 22 new COVID-related deaths were recorded along with more than 2,000 additional infections.

The state’s confirmed death toll climbed above 16,300 while another than 558 are considered “probable” COVID deaths.
