The German Township Water district has issued a boil advisory for its customers.

A water main break has caused the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to urge German Township residents to boil their drinking water until further notice.

The water main has been repaired but during that process the water pressure dipped which means there is a chance water could have gotten contaminated.

Officials say contamination is unlikely but it is still recommended to boil drinking or water used for cooking, for five minutes before using it.
