New Downtown Bookstore Offers Curated Books, Board Games

John Gibson

A ribbon has been cut, officially opening a new bookstore in Downtown Evansville.

Your Brother’s Bookstore has been open for about a month at 504 Main Street.

One of the two brother-owners, Sam Morris, told WNIN while national book chains like Border’s have gone by the wayside in recent years, independent bookstores are growing by about two percent a year.

"So, we're in an excellent market especially as shopping malls have started to decline, your downtowns are starting to thrive."

Morris says he and his brother make a good team.

"He was the orderer at Barnes and Noble. He was a manager at Borders. Then, I have my MBA and I have a lot of startup experience."

Morris says the store offers curated books.

"Without any corporate interference or bestseller lists or anything like that. We wanted to carry the books that we wanted to carry."

Your Brother’s Bookstore also carries a variety of board games.
