2 More COVID Deaths in Spencer County, Hospitalizations Down in SW Indiana

Two more COVID-19 related deaths are reported in southwest Indiana as hospitalizations continue to fall. 

The Indiana Department of Health recorded two more fatalities in Spencer County.

The agency added no COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties on the Wednesday dashboard.

Vanderburgh County saw 37 more infections, 89 new full vaccinations, nearly 500 more booster shots, and a drop in the seven-day positivity rate to 15.5 percent.

Across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana, the number of hospitalized COVID patients fell to 69 patients – the lowest since late July.

Statewide, another 53 COVID-related deaths were recorded with more than 2,000 new infections.

Indiana’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals stood at 15 percent.
