No New COVID Deaths, Few New Infections in SW Indiana

File

The state of Indiana is reporting no new COVID-19 related deaths and only a few infections in the Evansville area.

The Indiana Department of Health added no new fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.

The agency recorded just 23 new infections in the four-county area – most of them in Vanderburgh – on the Monday dashboard.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals dipped below 16 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana stood at 82. That number approached 300 in early September.

Across Indiana, the agency added just two new COVID-related deaths and more than 1,000 new infections.

Those numbers tend to trend lower on Mondays.
