One new COVID-19 related death is reported in southwest Indiana, while hospitalizations and infections continue to fall.
The Indiana Department of Health announced the 134th death of the pandemic in Dubois County on the Thursday dashboard.
It came one day after the state recorded Vanderburgh County’s 483rd COVID-related death since April 2020.
The number of new infections continued to decline on Thursday, with 34 in Vanderburgh, 16 in Warrick, and single-digits in Posey and Gibson counties.
Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals fell to about 17 percent, while nearly 100 more local residents became fully vaccinated and another 500 got booster shots.
The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana dropped to 79.
Across Indiana, 20 more COVID-related deaths were added, along with more than 2,000 new infections.
