Tropicana Switch to Bally Finalized

File

Evansville's casino is now Bally's Evansville.

The casino complex on Riverside Drive was closed Tuesday so workers could make changes that include the Bally’s name for the casino’s main hotel.

Tropicana began marketing itself as Bally’s Evansville in September.

Twin River Worldwide completed its acquisition in June for $140 million.

The company also obtained rights to the Bally's name.

Casino officials have said they don’t anticipate any job losses with the ownership change.

Bally’s is the third name for Evansville’s casino, which started out as Casino Aztar in 1995.

Aztar became Tropicana Evansville in 2013 and in 2017, the casino moved from a riverboat to its current location on Riverside.
