Six More COVID Deaths in Western KY; 2 in Southwest IN

A half dozen new COVID-19 related deaths and more than 300 new infections have been recorded in western Kentucky.

The Green River District Health Department added three fatalities in Daviess County, two in McLean County, and one in Ohio County.

309 new infections were also added in the seven-county district between Tuesday through Thursday.

The numbers indicate a continued, slow decline in cases and deaths.

The Indiana Department of Health added no new COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties, but one new fatality was added in Spencer County and another in Dubois County.

New full vaccinations in Vanderburgh outnumbered new infections 130-to-97.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana fell significantly to 145.  That number reached 292 in early September.

Statewide, Indiana saw 29 new COVID-related deaths and nearly 3,600 new infections.

More: Vanderburgh County's seven-day Positivity rate among individuals held at about 21 percent.
