New Santa stamp unveiled Thursday

USPS

The U.S. Postal Service traveled to Santa Claus Thursday to dedicate a new holiday stamp.

What would a Santa stamp unveiling be in Santa Claus, Indiana without an appearance by the jolly old elf himself, who arrived on his sleigh at the event.

The holiday stamp series is titled, “A Visit from St. Nick”. The four stamps in the series illustrate the story of Santa’s visit on Christmas Eve.

A large crowd gathered at the Santa Lodge Wednesday to celebrate the unveiling. The illustrator was Brad Woodard and the stamps were designed by Greg Breeding. According to the postal service, twenty five to thirty new commemorative stamp designs are approved each year.

“A Visit from St. Nick” stamps are available now through the U.S. Postal Service.
