File

Five new COVID-19 related deaths and more than 400 new infections are reported in western Kentucky.

The Green River District Health Department added two new deaths in Daviess County, one in Henderson County, one in Union County, and one in Webster County.

Daviess County’s death toll reached 240, while Henderson’s climbed to 97.

The department also tallied 402 more infections in the seven-county district from Friday through Monday.

The district’s seven-day average of new cases fell to about 132 but all the county’s districts remained “areas of high transmission.”

The department continued to urge all eligible residents to get vaccinated and wear a mask in indoor public spaces.

Kentucky residents who still need the shots are urged to visit vaccine.ky.gov to find a vaccination location.
