Local COVID Death Toll Reaches 460

Another COVID-19 related death has been recorded in Vanderburgh County, with more new infections than new vaccinations. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced Vanderburgh’s 460th fatality of the pandemic on the Thursday dashboard.

The agency also tallied 75 more cases and just 46 more full vaccinations.

The county’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals ticked up to about 21 percent.

No new COVID-related deaths were recorded in Warrick, Gibson, or Posey counties.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana fell by nine to 201 with about a quarter of intensive care beds available.

Statewide, Indiana counted 31 new fatalities and nearly 3,500 more cases.
