Supply issues forced the Tri-State’s top employer to take Friday off.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing says it suspended production Friday at its Gibson County plant.
In a statement, the automaker said it continues to deal with supply chain issues at most of its North American plants because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Toyota said its manufacturing and supply chain teams are “working diligently to minimize the impact on production.”
The company is projecting a reduction of 60,000 to 80,000 vehicles in October.
Toyota said it does not anticipate any impact to employment.
