COVID Claims Another Half-Dozen Lives in Evansville Area

Six more COVID 19-related deaths are reported in the Evansville area. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced four more fatalities in Vanderburgh County, one in Warrick County, and one in Gibson County.

Vanderburgh’s pandemic death toll rose to 448, Warrick’s climbed to 177, and Gibson’s reached 107.

The agency also recorded 119 new infections in Vanderburgh County on the Wednesday dashboard.

More than 200 local residents joined the ranks of fully vaccinated while the county’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals fell below 23 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana continued to fall slowly to 227. That number was as low as 30 in June.

Across Indiana, the agency recorded 72 more COVID-related deaths along with more than 3,900 new infections.
