Fall officially arrives at 2:21 Wednesday afternoon and right on cue, cooler weather has moved in.

Temperatures in the upper 50’s to low 60’s, rain, and gusty winds are ushering in the autumn season in the Tri-State.

The average high temperature for Wednesday is about 80 degrees.

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Wind Advisory that’s in effect until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. Forecasters also say thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the mid 40’s Wednesday and Thursday nights.

The autumnal equinox represents the day that the amount of sunshine and darkness are about equal.

Daylight will continue to diminish until the Winter Solstice in late December.
