The COVID-19 death toll continues to climb in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky.

The Indiana Department of Health recorded two more COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh County, one in Warrick County, and one in Gibson County.

Vanderburgh’s death toll reached 439, Warrick’s 176, and Gibson’s 106.

COVID hospitalizations continued to fall slowly across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana, down to 245.

Statewide, the agency tallied 32 new virus-related deaths and more than 4,300 new infections on the Friday dashboard.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department added a dozen COVID-related fatalities: five in Daviess County, one in Henderson County, two in Union County, two in Webster County, and two in Ohio County.

The agency also reported nearly 650 more infections in the seven-county district between Tuesday and Thursday, with 19 COVID patients in the hospital.
