COVID Vaccinations Soar in Vanderburgh; Infections Still Rising; No New Deaths

500 more Vanderburgh County residents have become fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 

The Indiana Department of Health recorded 504 new vaccinations in the county, raising the overall total above 86,000 – or about half the county’s population.

New infections continued to rise with 165 in Vanderburgh, 54 new cases in Warrick, 29 in Gibson, 15 in Posey, 24 in Pike, 13 in Dubois, and 12 in Spencer County.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals stood at just over 27 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients rose to 269 in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana.

The agency recorded no new deaths across the state but about 2,900 new infections on the Monday dashboard.

Indiana’s seven-day positivity rate was about 18 percent.
